Organic Elixirs|Vegetable Juice for Newbie Juicers
This is only from my own juicing experiments. Everyone has different taste so I encourage you to experiment on your own too. Most people I know that make there own veggie juice say the taste takes some getting used too. I'll be the first to admit that most home made veggie juice taste awful if not mixed right. Leafy vegetables leave a bitter taste in you mouth and have a dirty smell to it, but if blended correctly will go good with carrot juice. Carrot juice is sweet and could be considered a good base for most of you juices, but if you have diabetes you might not use as many carrots. Beets are similar to carrots in that they too are very sweet and add a pretty color to you juice. Like I said before though carrots and beets are very sweet and taste good but are limited in the nutrients that you are going to receive from green leafy veggies like kale, lettuce, and chard. I prefer to use about half carrot and/or beet juice with a blend of my favorite leafy greens to go along with it. A touch of garlic will help to neutralize any bitterness, but don't use to much one clove will do fine for a serving.

Organic Elixirs|Best juicer for your $$$

Finding the right type of juicer that fits your organic elixirs and $$$ range isn't always the easiest experience. You might have seen juicers at a grocery store or sears for around $100, but the way that these juicers extract your juice degrade the amount of nutrients that the fruits and veggies provide in the first place. Most of these juicers shred and tear the vegetable very fast. While it is shredding it heats up and waste precious parts of the plant and delivers less nutrients that the fruit or veggie would be able to provide with a juicer like Greenstar. That may not seem like such a big deal, but it defeats the purpose of buying the juicer in the first place. The better choice of juicer is a slow press that doesn't get real hot. A good juicer that uses a slow press style will run you around $250- $300 and from my experience Green Star juicer works wonderfully and keeps your juice fresh for days.
Organic Elixirs|Why I like Greens First
If you know me then you know I am always walking around with a glass jar of a tasty green substance know as greens first. I truly love this drink starting with the taste it can't be beat, if it could I'd be drinking the other drink instead. Drinking your greens has many advantages. First, it is easier to consume than 10 servings of vegetables. Ever try to eat 10 different servings of greens at once? Maybe once or twice then it gets to be a drag and probably would even give you a stomach ache. Greens First is organic dried vegetables ground down to a fine powder to mix well with water or "my favorite" aloe juice; also drinking your greens will give you better absorption of the nutrients which works great for fasting.
